How often should my pool be serviced?
For most residential pools in Central Ohio, weekly service during the swimming season (May through September) is ideal. This includes chemical testing and balancing, skimming, brushing, and equipment checks. During the off-season, monthly checks are recommended if the pool is not winterized.
What does a pool opening service include?
Our opening service includes removing and cleaning the winter cover, reassembling and inspecting all equipment (pump, filter, heater), filling the pool to the proper level, shock treating and balancing the water chemistry, and a full system test run. We typically recommend scheduling your opening in late April or early May.
When should I close my pool for winter?
We recommend closing your pool when water temperatures consistently drop below 65 degrees Fahrenheit, typically mid-to-late October in Central Ohio. Closing too early can lead to algae growth; closing too late risks freeze damage to plumbing and equipment.
How do I know if my pool has a leak?
Common signs include unexplained water loss (more than 1/4 inch per day beyond normal evaporation), soggy spots in the yard near the pool, air bubbles in the return jets, or cracks in the deck. If you suspect a leak, contact us for a professional leak detection service.
Can you service pools you did not build?
